Quality Management Systems (QMS) describes the process, approach, systematic identification and management of activities employed through a sequential “Plan-Do-Check-Act” cycle to achieve the Quality goals of a company.
QMS are well documented in a company’s Quality Manual, formulated and implemented by a Quality Head/QA Manager and approved by the management of the firm. The Quality Management Systems are based on the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.
QMS are documented and monitored in following categories –
LEVEL A – Quality Assurance Manual (QAM)
LEVEL B – Site Master File (SMF)
LEVEL C – Strandard Operating Procedure/Working Instructions (WI)
LEVEL D – Associated Document Records (ADR)/ Quality Standard Procedures (QSP)
The management reviews the implementation of QMS at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness.
QMS plays a very crucial role in ensuring Product Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance. QMS, furthermore, helps in improving operational efficiency, lowering operational waste and thus improving cost efficiency. These policies and steps help in enhancing company’s competitiveness and brand reputation.
